the innocent village fete day one

0

We were blessed with sunshine and blue skies today for the first day of our big village fete in Regent's Park. Here are just some of the highlights so far...

1

People enjoying the sunshine. There was a lot of it.

2

Bunting making with the Girl Guides.

Duck herding.

3

Rolly pollies on the village green during the Gymnastics workshop.

4

A Town Crier testing the dog agility course.

Lots of Morris dancing throughout the day.

5

Lovely flower arranging by our Aliana's sister.

Adem playing 'God Only Knows What I'd Be Without You' on the acoustic stage on a very small guitar in that nice t-shirt with two red circles and two green rectangles again. What are those small guitars actually called?

The William Fairey Band working the hay barn crowd into a frenzy with their brass band versions of acid house classics. They are probably the only brass band in the country to get this kind of reaction on a Saturday afternoon at a fete I imagine.

6

Plus our smoothies were very popular which was a relief.

Oh and I spotted Louis Theroux wandering around. Appreciating the stranger bits probably.

I just have to say what a wonderful job the staff looking after the rest rooms done, I have never been to any outdoor function where it was a pleasure to use the toilets instead of a horror. I hope the staff get a few words of praise because I think they had a mamoth task which they did a fantastic job of. Thank you for a wonderful day it was certainly a day to remember, please bring the fete to oxford next year!

i have a big beak and I love poopsie-woopsies so there. I am big lou man and there is nothing that you can do about it. I am Louis Levin

Yesterday was such a fab day out.The fete rocks, really looking forward to chilling out in the acoustic tent today and necking a few cold bevies. The guys at innocent have got it spot on this year. It was great just wandering around the site,we had such a gas.The ferret racing had me in stitches!!!!!

Loved the weekend. Thanks everyone involved. It's this sort of thing that makes London special. One tiny whinge - why was smoking allowed in tents? Audience and some acts puffing away. Legally questionable. Still, fantastic. Highlights, the Brass Band, Barker Band, Swing Band and Kitty, Daisy & Lewis!!

Apart from a slight cock-up on the re-admission front, which resulted in me having to explain my plight to both security staff and Innocent reps, but which was sorted out eventually, a great day out for all the family.
